I catered a canape party for a new client in the North Cotswolds. The weather was lovely so we were out in thier lovely garden. It was a day of ‘its a small world’ – there was a great frind of my mum’s there and the host knew a close friends mum and had bought a hotel from her!
All went very well and have handed my cards out to nearly all the guests – fantastic!

Catered a 80th Birthday party today, lots of sandwiches and sausage rolls. There was some serious knees up going on so luckliy there was lots of food and wine to keep them going!

It was my son’s 2nd birthday yesterday… he absolutely loved his presents – he knew they were for him… and his cake…

When he had gone to bed we enjoyed the rest of the party, finishing off sitting round a fire pit with the flames flickering in the still night sky

Busy weekend again… lots going on at the Event plus and 80th birthday this Sunday afternoon – sandwiches suasages roles cakes etc

Joanna successfully organised the catering for my mother’s celebratory tea dance to mark her 90^th birthday on 25^th July 2010 at BOX VILLAGE HALL.

Joanna planned the event with us and discussed menu options taking on board our particular wishes and atmosphere we wished to create.  She was very helpful and inventive in her suggestions.

The event was a spectacular success and the family were very pleased indeed.

Joanna’s considerable strengths lie in her ability to organise smooth running, co-ordinate staff and deliver as planned. 

The menu was extremely professionally presented, attractive and tasty.

I would have no hesitation in engaging Joanna again for future events and in recommending her to others.

It was my parents 25th Wedding Aniversary this weekend – what a lovely time we all had – though a bit of work for me – doing the food, though I had help from my 4 sisters. We had a lovely BBQ on the Friday and then a summer buffet on Saturday and canapes on Sunday! Thank goodness the weather was great. Thinking of celebrating an anniversary – let me take the stress and strain away by helping with the organisation and food.

You must try this delicious Chocolate Cheesecake – so easy but to die for!

You need
12 oz Chocolate digestives – crushed
3 oz butter – melted

Mix the two and line a 8″ spring loaded cake tin – chill

Melt 8oz good quality chocolate in a bowl over simmering hot water
Mix together 1 large tin condensed milk, 450 ml double cream, 4 tablespoon cocoa powder, 8oz cream cheese. Pour in melted chocolate and whisk till thick. Pour into tin with biscuit base. Chill for several hours. Serve with grated chocolate and a few raspberries. Enjoy!

I think tea dances should come back in fashion – I am going to start a campaign. Yesterday I did the food and provided staff for a local residents 90th Birthday tea party for 80 friends and family. We hired beautiful vintage china from Vintage Teasets in Bristol, with cake stands and bon bon dishes. I filled the stands with little cakes and savouries and it look lovely. They had Pimms and then champagne and danced to a duo who played Vera Lynn to Chuck Berry! it was held in my local Village Hall so lots of locals who hopefully might book me for an event!
